- Taken a years career break from child protection social work to move to Spain with my husband, Pete, a retired firefighter and two children aged ten and five years. Following a twenty year career in social work I reduced my work load and retrained in beauty therapy (thought it would be nice for people to actually want me in their home!). I worked for a local authority and adoption agency at the beginning of the week and spent the latter end of the week offering mobile nails/beauty and holistic treatments prior to moving to Spain In February 2009. Hopi ear candling is my specialist area of work which is a holistic treatment that can help people with ear, nose or throat difficulties.

- I would describe myself as a 'people person' in that I able to be a good friend, listener and talker and like to think I am a reliable and sincere person who accepts people for what/who they are. Family is important to me as are good friendships.
I enjoy 'a good laugh and natter' in female or mixed company and 'never say never' to trying something new - hence my recent arrival in Spain.
I am generally described as a strong and confident person, who is eager to help others, a good organiser and enjoy life. I have a creative streak and give everything my 100% attention, hence very methodical, honest, and consciencious in what I do (...yet I've still not conquered the skill of being a good cook - leave that to my husband!)

I hope to be in a position to support women in need via my professional experience, motivation, UK contacts and professional qualifications - attended Manchester and Salford universities over the years and attained a social work/social policy diploma and post qualifying social work degree.

Or we can have like Karla sugested meet at the meetings...I missed out 2 now since I am still busy with having my things in order...container will arrive from out of Philippines this teusday...wow...Looking forward too it...still it will be a lot of work!
