WIBC-SPAIN

Minutes of Networking Meeting held at L’Ancora, Javea on 19th October

Present:
Chris – Committee Admin
Valerie – Treasurer
6 Members and 1 new member.

Marija explained about the chairs she sells which aid people who have trouble with mobility. She also said she would be demonstrating the electric buggy aids they sell at the WRD expo.

Jane told how Hannydee was planning to create some recipes with seasonal foods, to send to clients by email and mobile phone as well as hard copies. These would be nutritional and healthy but simple for people to follow. She also reinforced her endorsement of Karla’s Aloe Vera products which she has posted on the website. We also heard of her exploits as a Hen Whisperer. Apparently, at a photo shoot with a hen (don’t ask) the animal was a little hyper but Jane held it and calmed it down and it became the star of the shoot. A woman of many talents.

Lali is a new member who runs a language school in Javea Port. She not only runs conventional classes but is prepared to give businesses specific training required for them to improve their skills like “talking on the telephone”. She also has a fully equipped language school which is available for other to use as she does not use the place all the time.

Deanna explained about her spiritual work and how she has been giving readings as a Medium for many years. It was interesting to hear how she had helped with missing persons and other crime solving in the past.

Edwina was present with her copies of Female Focus and to tell us of her new antique shop in Javea old town. This is in the shop where her son used to have his travel agency. She is only just starting there but seems keen and eager to get the business expanded.

Val talked of how the shop she shares with High Street Heaven at the Inn on the Green is getting very busy. Her jewellery business is doing fine and she shared with us the news that the funky specs at the shop were currently selling at 5 euros.

Isabel was representing White and Boas lawyers and explained the type of representation their company does.

Jaqueline from Premier Rentals had been at the meeting earlier but had to leave for an appointment but said she would try to recruit volunteers for WRD.

A general discussion took place about the coming White Ribbon Day and the subject of male owned businesses being allowed to sponsor us but not have stands. The meeting generally agreed that that was a good idea. It was suggested that we re-introduce the advertising board which used to stand behind the stage and sponsors could advertise on it.
The idea of leaflets going into the Round Town News would be better that a full page advert. The costs of this would be researched.

The meeting closed at 3.30pm.
